FLORIDA — The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an active death investigation after a body was found in the water near Hunter Creek along the Peace River.
Deputies said the investigation was announced around 11 a.m. Monday. According to reports, the body was discovered Sunday evening.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person or any details about the circumstances surrounding the death.
Officials said the investigation is still in its early stages, and no additional information is available at this time.
