TENNESSEE — Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead on a roadway early Monday morning in Sevierville, according to police.
The Sevierville Police Department said a passerby called 911 around 6:45 a.m. to report a man lying in the southbound lanes of Winfield Dunn Parkway near West Mount Road.
Officers responded to the scene and found the man dead. Investigators said it appears the man may have been struck by a vehicle.
Police have identified the victim, but his name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Sevierville Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to investigate the incident.
