
LOUISIANA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Louisiana are without electricity Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 2,799 customers are experiencing outages statewide, representing about 0.12% of the more than 2.3 million customers tracked.
Vernon Parish was by far the hardest-hit area, with 2,351 customers without power — accounting for a significant share of the state’s total outages. Orleans Parish reported 150 outages, while Beauregard Parish had 96 customers affected. Caddo Parish reported 71 outages, and smaller numbers were reported in St. John the Baptist, Calcasieu, Bossier and East Baton Rouge parishes.
Among utility providers, Beauregard Electric Cooperative reported the largest number of outages, with 2,439 customers without service. Entergy reported 234 outages, followed by Southwestern Electric Power Company with 95 customers affected.
Statewide, Louisiana ranked among the top states in the nation for outages Monday morning, placing sixth overall and fourth in percentage of customers affected.
Crews continue working to restore service.
