
ALABAMA — A 22-year-old Bessemer man was killed in a late-night shooting Saturday, according to authorities.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Carloss Sumpter Jr. Officials said he died from gunshot wounds sustained during an assault on 30th Street South around 11:30 p.m.
The Bessemer Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide.
No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and more information is expected as it becomes available.
