
TEXAS — More than 8,000 customers across Texas are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
Statewide, approximately 8,167 homes and businesses are reported without power out of more than 15.6 million customers tracked, representing about 0.05% of customers.
The largest number of outages was reported in Dallas County, where about 2,957 customers were without electricity.
Fort Bend County reported roughly 1,831 outages, while Stephens County had about 684 outages. Additional outages were reported in Tarrant County, Lamar County, Montgomery County, Gray County, and Lubbock County.
Among utility providers, Oncor reported the highest number of outages, with approximately 4,707 customers affected. CenterPoint Energy reported about 1,999 outages, followed by Xcel Energy and Entergy. Lubbock Power & Light also reported outages affecting about 185 customers.
Texas currently ranks among the top states in the nation for outages, placing second overall and sixth for the percentage of customers affected.
Officials have not identified a specific cause for the outages. Restoration efforts are ongoing, and residents are encouraged to check with their local utility providers for updates.
