Three people arrested following drug bust in Florida

FLORIDA — Three people were arrested following a drug bust in Daytona Beach, according to authorities.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests stemmed from a tip about a suspected drug house, which led deputies to execute a search warrant Friday morning at a home on Madison Avenue.

Investigators said deputies arrived around 8:45 a.m. and found what they described as an active drug deal taking place inside the residence.

Authorities said 53-year-old Charlie Damon allegedly attempted to “return” cocaine by throwing a bag of the drug at 47-year-old Bobby Johnson, who investigators identified as the suspected dealer.

A third suspect, 27-year-old Kelson Ammanuel Kelson, reportedly fled out the back of the home but was apprehended a short distance away.

During the search, deputies said they recovered approximately 831 grams of cocaine, multiple firearms—including one reported stolen and another with a removed serial number—and about $10,000 in cash from the home and a storage unit.

Johnson and Damon were both charged with trafficking in cocaine between 28 and 200 grams, according to court records.

Kelson faces additional charges, including trafficking in cocaine, heroin, and hydrocodone, manufacturing cocaine, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstruction of an officer without violence.

All three suspects were booked into the Volusia County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing.
