
SOUTH CAROLINA — Thousands of customers across South Carolina are without power as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
Statewide, approximately 2,795 homes and businesses are reported without electricity out of more than 3.07 million customers tracked, representing about 0.09% of customers.
South Carolina ranks among the top states in the country for outages, placing sixth overall and fifth in terms of the percentage of customers affected.
The largest number of outages was reported in Charleston County, where about 1,253 customers were without power. Other areas with notable outages include Aiken County with approximately 451 outages, Orangeburg County with 269, and Colleton County with 228.
Utility provider Dominion Energy reported the majority of outages, with about 2,397 customers affected statewide. Additional outages were reported by Duke Energy and several electric cooperatives.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, and residents are encouraged to check with their local utility providers for updates.
