
NORTH CAROLINA — More than 4,000 customers across North Carolina are without electricity as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
Statewide, approximately 4,133 homes and businesses are reported without power out of more than 5.88 million customers tracked, representing about 0.07% of customers.
North Carolina ranks among the top states in the nation for outages, placing fourth overall and seventh in terms of the percentage of customers affected.
The largest concentration of outages is in Wake County, where about 2,729 customers are without power, making it the hardest-hit county in the state. Other counties with notable outages include Forsyth County with approximately 659 outages, Mecklenburg County with 338, and Alamance County with 167.
Utility provider Duke Energy accounts for the vast majority of outages, with more than 4,100 customers affected statewide. Smaller numbers of outages were also reported by other providers, including High Point Municipal Power and Dominion Energy.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, and residents are encouraged to check with their local utility providers for the latest updates.
