FLORIDA — A teenager was critically injured and another driver was killed in a crash just after midnight in Alachua County, according to authorities.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash occurred on County Road 2082, west of Hawthorne.
Investigators said an 18-year-old from Interlachen was driving a pickup truck eastbound when he crossed the center line and collided head-on with a sedan.
The driver of the sedan, a 40-year-old man from Hawthorne, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
The teen driver was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
