OHIO — A 53-year-old woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle late Friday night in Columbus, according to authorities.
Police said the crash occurred just before 11 p.m. along East Dublin Granville Road near the southbound ramp to Interstate 71 in north Columbus. Investigators reported that a vehicle traveling eastbound struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the roadway.
The victim, identified as Florence Vitka, 53, was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. She was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Columbus Division of Police is continuing to investigate the crash.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
