KANSAS — A man was arrested Friday in connection with a narcotics investigation in Columbus, according to authorities.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, along with Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and the Columbus Police Department, executed search warrants at two locations in the city.

Officials said the warrants were carried out at 816 E. Sycamore and 216 N. Illinois on March 27 as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

During the searches, authorities recovered evidence and arrested a 44-year-old Columbus man. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

As of Friday afternoon, prosecutors had not yet formally filed charges against the suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
