GEORGIA — One person was killed Friday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Emanuel County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers were called to the scene around 6:30 a.m. on State Route 4.

Investigators said the crash began when a vehicle traveling east on Old Nunez Road stopped in the median at the intersection with State Route 4, leaving its trailer in the left lane of southbound traffic.

A second vehicle traveling southbound in the left lane struck the trailer, troopers said.

The driver of the second vehicle was ejected during the crash and landed in the right southbound lane, where they were then struck by a third vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Troop F Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.
