ALABAMA — A late-night arrest in Walker County led to the seizure of methamphetamine and the recovery of two all-terrain vehicles believed to be stolen, according to authorities.

Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith said deputies made the arrest overnight after catching suspects “in the middle of committing another theft.”

During the incident, deputies seized approximately two ounces of methamphetamine. Investigators also recovered two ATVs that are believed to be stolen, though officials said the vehicles have not yet been reported missing by their owners.

Authorities identified the suspect as Samuel James Burnette. He is charged with first-degree theft of property, resisting arrest, fourth-degree theft of property and possession with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Smith said additional charges and more arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
