
PENNSYLVANIA — Nearly 7,000 homes and businesses are without electricity across Pennsylvania as of Thursday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
Officials report 6,847 customers without power statewide, representing about 0.1% of the more than 6.7 million customers tracked. Pennsylvania currently has the third-highest number of outages in the United States and ranks seventh for the percentage of customers affected.
Outages were concentrated in several counties, with Monroe County reporting the highest number at 2,755 customers without power. Mifflin County followed with 1,320 outages, while Bucks County and Delaware County reported 445 and 437 outages, respectively.
By percentage, Monroe County was also the hardest hit, with approximately 2.78% of customers affected.
Among utility providers, FirstEnergy reported the largest number of outages with about 5,100 customers affected. Other providers reporting outages included PECO Energy Company, PPL Electric Utilities and Duquesne Light Company.
Outage totals can change as restoration efforts continue and new outages are reported.
