NORTH CAROLINA — One man has died and another remains hospitalized following a shooting at a nightclub in Raleigh, according to police.
Authorities said 33-year-old Jorge Dorantes-Carranz died Wednesday from injuries he suffered in a shooting Sunday at the Patio Night Club on New Bern Avenue.
Police said a second victim was also injured in the shooting and remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Investigators noted the incident is part of a series of violent crimes reported along a roughly one-mile stretch of New Bern Avenue. Officials said multiple shootings have occurred in the area over the past year, including incidents at nearby nightclubs.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the shooting.
