Student injured after being assaulted by classmate at Pennsylvania middle school

PENNSYLVANIA — A middle school student is facing charges after an assault left a classmate with a concussion in Lancaster County, according to the Lititz Borough Police Department.

Authorities said the incident involved two 14-year-old students at Warwick Middle School.

According to investigators, the suspect pushed the victim twice into a concrete wall, causing the victim to strike their head. Police said the suspect then punched the victim in the face, knocking them to the floor.

Officials said the assault continued as the victim attempted to walk to the school nurse, with the suspect allegedly striking the victim in the back of the head three additional times.

The victim was treated medically and diagnosed with an acute concussion, authorities said.

Police said the incident was captured on school surveillance video.

The suspect, whose name has not been released due to their age, has been charged with simple assault. The investigation remains ongoing.
