MICHIGAN — A Lansing man was among two people killed in a helicopter crash Monday in Boynton Beach, according to reports.
Authorities identified the victim as 52-year-old Bryan Menna. The second victim was identified as 28-year-old Alejandro Carrasco of West Palm Beach.
The crash occurred shortly before 12:30 p.m. when a small helicopter, identified as a Robinson R44, crashed into a vacant warehouse. Emergency crews responded to the scene and confirmed both occupants were deceased.
Officials said Carrasco was acting as a flight instructor, while Menna was a student pilot at the time of the crash.
A witness told investigators the helicopter appeared to be descending nose-first before impact.
The cause of the crash remains unknown. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating. Authorities said a preliminary report could take about a month to be completed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
