
WISCONSIN — Thousands of homes and businesses across Wisconsin are without electricity Wednesday afternoon, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 2,735 customers are without power statewide, representing about 0.09% of the more than 2.9 million customers tracked. Wisconsin currently ranks seventh in the nation for total outages and sixth for the percentage of customers affected.
The majority of outages were reported in Milwaukee County, where 2,522 customers were without power. Waushara County reported 127 outages, while Dane County had 52 customers affected.
Additional outages were reported in Sauk County, Jackson County and Kenosha County, though those totals were significantly lower.
Among utility providers, We Energies reported the highest number of customers without power, accounting for 2,530 outages. Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative had the highest percentage of customers affected at approximately 0.32%.
Utility crews continue working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Residents experiencing outages are encouraged to report them to their local utility provider and follow safety precautions until power is restored.
