OHIO — A Boardman woman is facing a felony charge after police say she struck a man multiple times with her vehicle in Warren, according to a police report.
Officers were called around 3:15 p.m. Monday to a home on McMyler Street NW for a report of a person being hit by a car. When officers arrived, they spoke with a man who said a woman, later identified as Brianna Daye, hit him with her vehicle, causing him to fall partially underneath it.
According to the report, the man said that after he got back up, Daye reversed and struck him again. He told police she then attempted to hit him a third time but instead struck a parked vehicle in the driveway.
Police said the victim had a recording of the incident, which he showed to officers at the scene.
Officers later went to a residence on Linda Drive in search of Daye. After initially receiving little cooperation from a man outside the home, officers were allowed inside by another individual. Police said they eventually found Daye hiding inside a bedroom closet that had items stacked in front of it.
Officers noted the closet doorknob was missing and said they had to use a knife to open it.
Daye was taken into custody and booked into the Trumbull County Jail. She has been charged with one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony.
She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment Tuesday, where her bond was set at $100,000. Court records indicate she has a history of failing to comply with court orders. She is scheduled to return to court Monday.
The victim declined emergency medical treatment at the scene but told officers he planned to seek care on his own.
