
TEXAS — More than 6,000 homes and businesses across Texas are without electricity Tuesday afternoon, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, approximately 6,086 customers are affected statewide, representing about 0.04% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked. Texas currently ranks third in the nation for total outages and 16th for the percentage of customers affected.
Harris County reported the highest number of outages, with about 2,050 customers without power. Other counties with notable outages included Llano County with 1,134 customers affected, Cameron County with 847, and Nueces County with 478.
By utility provider, CenterPoint Energy reported the most outages, with 2,321 customers without service. Pedernales Electric Cooperative and Magic Valley Electric Cooperative also reported significant impacts, with more than 1,100 and 850 outages, respectively.
Magic Valley Electric Cooperative had the highest percentage of customers affected, with about 0.57% of its service area experiencing outages.
Restoration efforts are ongoing across affected areas.
