One adult, four teens charged following fight at Georgia park

GEORGIA — One adult and four teenagers have been charged following a violent fight earlier this month at a park in LaGrange, according to police.

Authorities said the incident occurred March 7 behind the running track at Granger Park. Police reviewed cell phone video of the altercation the same day.

The suspects include 33-year-old Brittany Adams, 17-year-old Christina Freeman, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old. The names of the younger teens were not released.

According to police, Adams faces multiple charges, including first-degree cruelty to children, three counts of third-degree cruelty to children, battery under the Family Violence Act, two counts of battery and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Investigators said Adams stomped on the faces of two juveniles and struck two others in the face with a cellphone, leaving several teens with visible bruising. One teen also suffered a fractured nose.

Freeman and the three juveniles were charged with affray, a charge involving fighting in public that disturbs the peace.

Police said the fight stemmed from an ongoing verbal dispute between two of the teens and had been planned in advance. Authorities allege Adams drove two juveniles to the park to meet the others.

All five individuals are in custody awaiting court proceedings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact LaGrange police.
