
GEORGIA — One person is dead following a multi-vehicle crash early Monday morning in DeKalb County, according to police.
Officers responded around 5:42 a.m. to Highway 78 near Hugh Howell Road after receiving reports of a crash.
When authorities arrived, they found two vehicles involved in the collision and confirmed that one person had died at the scene.
Police have not released the identity of the victim and said it is unclear whether the person was a driver or passenger.
The roadway was shut down for approximately three hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
Officials said the cause of the crash remains under investigation, and it is not yet known if any charges will be filed.
