
VIRGINIA — More than 5,000 homes and businesses across Virginia are without electricity as of Monday morning, placing the state among the hardest hit in the nation for power outages.
According to the latest data, 5,153 customers are without power statewide, representing about 0.13% of the 4,068,699 customers tracked. Virginia currently ranks fifth in the country for both total outages and percentage of customers affected.
Outages are impacting communities across the state, with Albemarle County reporting the highest number of customers without service at 1,118. The county is also the hardest hit by percentage, with approximately 1.88% of customers affected.
Other areas reporting outages include Fairfax County (969), Henrico County (767), Richmond City (522), Loudoun County (517), Waynesboro (346), Augusta County (273), and Northumberland County (213).
Among utilities, Dominion Energy reports the largest number of outages, with 3,744 customers without power. Central Virginia Electric Cooperative has the highest percentage of customers affected, with about 1.78% without service.
Crews are working to restore electricity, though no estimated restoration times have been provided. Residents are urged to report outages to their providers and avoid downed power lines.
