FLORIDA — A man accused of domestic battery was arrested Sunday after barricading himself inside an apartment in Homestead, according to police.
Officers with the Homestead Police Department responded to the 1600 block of Southeast 29th Court following reports of a domestic battery incident.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Michael Anthony, barricaded himself inside the apartment when officers arrived.
Police established a perimeter and attempted to negotiate with Anthony. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team was later called to assist.
Deputies ultimately took Anthony into custody without incident.
Investigators said Anthony also had an active warrant for attempted murder, along with additional domestic battery charges.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
