SOUTH CAROLINA — Two people are dead following a head-on crash Friday morning in Colleton County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 5:55 a.m. on U.S. Highway 15 near Red Bank Road.
Investigators said a 2005 Toyota pickup truck traveling south collided with a 2018 Toyota sedan that was traveling northbound on the same roadway.
According to SCHP Corporal Nick Pye, the driver and a passenger in the sedan were both killed in the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
