GEORGIA — A man has been arrested after deputies say he fired a gun and jumped onto a moving vehicle during a domestic incident near the Georgia-South Carolina state line.
According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Saturday to reports of gunshots along Anderson Highway near the Hartwell Dam.
Investigators said the incident began as an argument between the man and a woman. During the altercation, the man allegedly fired a gun. Authorities said a woman at the scene attempted to drive away, at which point the man reportedly jumped onto the moving vehicle before falling off as it sped away.
Deputies said the suspect then walked along Anderson Highway into South Carolina, where he was located and arrested by Anderson County deputies.
The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Shannon Travis Minor of Anderson, has been charged with aggravated assault. He is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center pending extradition back to Hart County.
Officials said the investigation remains ongoing.
