SOUTH CAROLINA — Thousands of residents across South Carolina are without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, approximately 2,412 homes and businesses are without power statewide, representing about 0.08% of the more than 3 million customers tracked.

Greenville County is reporting the largest number of outages, with 1,995 customers affected. That accounts for the majority of outages in the state and makes it the hardest-hit area, both in total numbers and percentage of customers impacted.

Pickens County has the second-highest number of outages with 315 customers without power. Other counties experiencing smaller outages include Charleston County with 26, Anderson County with 21, Georgetown County with 18 and Berkeley County with 16.

Utility data shows Duke Energy has the highest number of affected customers, with just over 2,000 outages reported. Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative also reported several hundred outages.

Statewide, South Carolina ranks among the top 10 states in the nation for power outages, placing seventh in total outages and eighth in percentage of customers affected.
