LOUISIANA — A 24-year-old woman was killed in a crash early Saturday morning in Iberia Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.
The crash occurred on the U.S. Highway 90 Frontage Road near Grand Prairie Road. Authorities said Katlin Khayankane of New Iberia was walking along the westbound lane of the roadway while wearing dark clothing.
For reasons still under investigation, Khayankane was in the roadway when she was struck by a westbound truck.
She sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured, officials said.
Louisiana State Police Troop I is continuing to investigate the crash.
