
NORTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested Saturday evening after reportedly wielding a knife in downtown Matthews, according to police.
Officers with the Matthews Police Department responded to the area of North Trade Street near the railroad tracks after receiving reports of a man waving a knife.
Police said the man was taken into custody and is facing charges of resisting a public officer and carrying a concealed weapon.
No injuries were reported.
The incident drew a visible police presence in the downtown area as officers responded. Authorities have not released additional details.
The case remains under investigation.
