
KANSAS — Two people were seriously injured in an ATV crash Friday night in southeastern Jackson County, according to authorities.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the crash was reported around 9:45 p.m. in the 19000 block of 142nd Road near the Jefferson County line.
Investigators said a man from Valley Falls and a woman from McLouth were traveling westbound on an ATV when the vehicle struck a dog. The impact caused the ATV to lose control and roll over.
Both individuals were transported to a hospital in Topeka with life-threatening injuries.
Emergency crews from Jackson County EMS, along with fire departments from Hoyt, Mayetta and the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation, responded to the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
