VIRGINIA — A man died following a shooting late Friday night in Richmond’s Jackson Ward neighborhood, according to police.
Officers were called around 11:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Monroe and Broad streets. When they arrived, they found a man in the 300 block of North Monroe Street suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have not released the victim’s identity. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
