TEXAS — Thousands of residents and businesses across Texas are without electricity Friday afternoon, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the most recent update, approximately 4,473 customers statewide are experiencing power outages, representing about 0.03% of the more than 15.6 million customers tracked. The data was updated within minutes of publication.

Rockwall County reported the highest number of outages, with 2,552 customers affected, accounting for roughly 4.47% of its total tracked customers — the highest percentage in the state. Other counties with notable outages included Harris County with 479 customers affected, Shelby County with 356, and Tarrant County with 152.

Among utility providers, Oncor reported the largest number of outages, with 2,958 customers without power. CenterPoint Energy followed with 547 outages, while Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative reported 356 customers affected — the highest outage percentage among major utilities at 0.79%.

Overall, Texas ranked sixth in the nation for the total number of outages Friday and 12th in terms of the percentage of customers impacted.
