TEXAS — A man has been arrested following a lengthy investigation into the sale of illegal drugs near a Livingston elementary school, according to the Livingston Police Department.

Officers had been investigating suspected drug activity near Pine Ridge Primary School when they executed a search warrant at a residence connected to the case.

During the search, authorities said they found multiple types of drugs, including methamphetamine, crack cocaine, MDMA, synthetic marijuana and illegally possessed prescription medications. Investigators also recovered items commonly used to package and distribute drugs, along with a firearm.

Police identified the suspect as Alvin Taylor II. He was arrested and charged with six counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Taylor is currently being held in the Polk County Jail on a $330,000 bond.

Authorities noted the residence was located in a drug-free zone, which resulted in enhanced charges. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
