
VIRGINIA — A Virginia woman is facing multiple felony charges after deputies discovered drugs, cash, and a firearm in her vehicle, according to the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 6 p.m. Monday to Willow Springs Road after receiving a report of a woman slumped over in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. When authorities arrived, they were able to wake the woman and began an investigation.
A sheriff’s office K-9 was deployed and alerted deputies to the presence of illegal drugs. During a search of the vehicle, authorities recovered cocaine, clonazepam, more than $5,000 in cash, digital scales, a stolen 9mm handgun, and additional drug paraphernalia.
The woman, identified as Joann Hoyle, 38, of Chesapeake, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Hoyle is being held without bond at the Rockbridge Regional Jail.
Authorities have not released additional details. The investigation is ongoing.
