SOUTH CAROLINA — A Columbia man has been charged after authorities say he was found in possession of a stolen off-road vehicle at a travel stop.
According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), deputies encountered Zachary Jenkins, 35, on Oct. 9, 2025, at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kershaw County. Investigators said Jenkins was in possession of a stolen 2024 Kawasaki KRX side-by-side at the time.
Officials said the vehicle had been reported stolen days earlier by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Columbus, North Carolina.
Jenkins was arrested and booked into the Kershaw County Detention Center. On March 13, 2026, SLED formally charged him with possession of a stolen vehicle valued at $10,000 or more.
The investigation was requested by the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office. The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
