TEXAS — A San Antonio man is facing a federal drug charge after investigators seized multiple types of narcotics and other items during a search of his northwest-side home, according to court records.

James Sterrett was taken into custody following a search conducted by agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week.

Authorities said the search uncovered a large quantity of drugs hidden in shoes throughout the residence. Investigators reported seizing approximately 167 grams of suspected fentanyl, along with about 86.88 grams of a mixture believed to contain fentanyl and methamphetamine, and 21.3 grams of suspected MDMA.

In addition to the drugs, officials said they found multiple fake government identification cards, stolen mail and several counterfeit U.S. Postal Service master keys.

Sterrett is charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. If convicted, he could face up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $5 million.

The investigation remains ongoing.
