
TENNESSEE — Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning on Interstate 40 in West Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene near Walker Springs Road just before 1:30 a.m. on March 19. When they arrived, police found a man and a woman who had been thrown from a motorcycle. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said preliminary findings, including witness statements, indicate the motorcycle was traveling westbound on I-40 when it collided with the rear of another vehicle.
No other injuries were reported.
Fatal accident investigators with the department are continuing to investigate the crash.
