TENNESSEE — A routine traffic stop in Dyer County led to a significant drug bust and the arrest of a local man, according to authorities.

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office said deputies initiated a traffic stop on Highway 104 West after discovering the driver had an active warrant and expired vehicle tags.

During the stop, a K-9 unit conducted a sweep of the vehicle and alerted deputies to the possible presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the car uncovered multiple illegal substances in the center console.

Authorities say deputies found approximately 82 grams of methamphetamine, along with fentanyl and ecstasy.

The driver, identified as 42-year-old John Dustin Morris, was taken into custody at the scene.

Morris is now facing three counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver, according to officials.

The investigation remains ongoing.
