
MARYLAND — One person was killed in a crash that shut down part of Interstate 495 during the Wednesday morning rush hour, according to authorities.
Maryland State Police said the crash occurred around 9:15 a.m. near the I-95 northbound ramp at Exit 27.
Officials confirmed the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional information about the individual has been released.
Following the crash, all southbound lanes were initially closed, causing significant traffic disruptions. Vehicles were temporarily able to pass using the right shoulder.
After several hours, officials said all lanes had reopened.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
