West Virginia school closings and delays for Wednesday

WEST VIRGINIA — Berkeley County Schools will not hold classes for students on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, due to a previously scheduled Curriculum Development Day.

According to school officials, the day is set aside for staff training and professional development, meaning students will not report to school buildings. The closure is not related to weather or emergency conditions but is part of the district’s academic calendar.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to plan accordingly, as all Berkeley County Schools will be closed to students for the day. Normal schedules are expected to resume following the planned staff development activities.

School systems often designate curriculum development days throughout the year to allow teachers and staff time to review instructional practices, collaborate on lesson planning, and participate in training aimed at improving student outcomes.
