TEXAS — A 20-year-old man died Tuesday afternoon following a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV in Palestine, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene around 3 p.m. near Academy Sports on Old Elkhart Road, where they found the motorcyclist unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the SUV driver, a 72-year-old man, was treated at the scene and released.
Investigators reported that the SUV was traveling south on Old Elkhart Road and attempting to turn left into a mall entrance when it collided with the northbound motorcycle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Palestine Police Department.
