NORTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a person was found dead Tuesday morning in west Charlotte.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to a call around 10:15 a.m. in the area of Belmeade Drive near Mount Holly Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim’s body in a remote area along a gravel road near railroad tracks and power lines.
Investigators have not released the identity of the victim, and it remains unclear how the person died. Police have also not announced any suspects in connection with the case.
The investigation remains ongoing.
