SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead and another is injured following a crash early Monday in Beaufort County.
The crash happened around 12:45 a.m. on Brickyard Point Road near Fiddler Drive.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2004 Toyota pickup truck was traveling north on Brickyard Point Road when it ran off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a tree.
The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with injuries. Authorities said a passenger in the vehicle died as a result of the crash.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
