
GEORGIA — More than 20,000 homes and businesses across Georgia are without electricity Monday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 20,421 customers across the state are without power out of roughly 5.3 million customers tracked statewide, representing about 0.38% of all customers.
Among Georgia’s 159 counties, Fulton County had the highest number of outages with 2,227 customers without power. Other counties with significant outages included Fayette County with 1,898 outages, Carroll County with 1,770, Coweta County with 1,396, and Bibb County with 1,386 customers without electricity.
By utility provider, Georgia Power reported the largest number of customers affected, with 8,851 outages among more than 2.7 million customers served. Other utilities reporting outages included Coweta-Fayette EMC, with 3,029 customers without power, and Carroll EMC, which reported 2,642 outages.
Overall, Georgia currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of power outages, according to the outage tracking site.
Officials continue to monitor the outages and restore service where possible.
