
MARYLAND — One person was killed and another seriously injured after a head-on crash early Sunday in Montgomery County, according to police.
Officers with the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to the two-vehicle crash shortly before 1:30 a.m. on March 15 near the intersection of Woodfield Road and Glendalough Road in the Laytonsville area.
Investigators said a man driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck north on Woodfield Road collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling south.
The man driving the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the Jeep, a woman, was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.
Following the crash, Woodfield Road was closed between Brink Road and Churchill Downs Road while officers investigated.
Authorities have not released the identity of the man who died. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
