OHIO — Authorities are investigating after a 4-year-old child was found dead Saturday at a lake in Deerfield Township, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Barry Riley said deputies were called to Al-Char Lakes in the 4300 block of South Shore Drive late Saturday afternoon. Officers remained at the scene for several hours while investigating before clearing the area later in the evening.
Officials believe the child drowned in the lake, though the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
The child’s identity has not yet been released, and authorities have not provided additional details about how the child ended up in the water.
Investigators said the case is still active, and more information may be released as the investigation continues. Officials have not indicated whether foul play is suspected.
