SOUTH CAROLINA — A police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended in a crash Saturday afternoon in Florence County, leaving one person hospitalized, according to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff T.J. Joye said deputies were alerted to a stolen vehicle through the department’s Flock camera system. When deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused and led officers on a pursuit.
Authorities said the chase ended on Hoffmeyer Road when the suspect crashed.
During the incident, the suspect struck another vehicle driven by a woman.
The woman was transported to a hospital for evaluation. Officials said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Deputies were able to recover the stolen vehicle following the crash.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office said additional information about the suspect and possible charges is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
