SOUTH CAROLINA — A woman has been charged with lottery fraud in Greenwood County after authorities say she redeemed scratch-off tickets without paying for them.
According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, the incident occurred on Feb. 21 at the Pic & Save on Saluda Street in Ninety Six.
Investigators said 44-year-old Kelly Erskine, who was employed at the store at the time, attempted to pass several scratch-off lottery tickets. Surveillance footage allegedly showed Erskine scanning, scratching and redeeming the tickets without paying for them.
Authorities charged Erskine with three counts of intent to defraud or counterfeit game tickets.
She is currently being held at the Greenwood County Detention Center.
