FLORIDA — A Homestead man was arrested Thursday after police say he sold illegal drugs to an undercover officer at a Miami smoke shop, leading to a SWAT raid that uncovered large quantities of suspected narcotics.

According to the Miami Police Department, officers were conducting a narcotics investigation at Ark Smoke Shop Biscayne, located at 2223 Biscayne Blvd., when 25-year-old Andrey Lopez allegedly sold drugs to an undercover agent.

Police said Lopez sold the officer 72.7 grams of psilocybin, commonly known as “magic mushrooms,” along with 14.6 grams of marijuana for $94. Authorities reported that Lopez was arrested shortly after the transaction and the drugs were seized for evidence.

Following the undercover purchase, officers and SWAT personnel executed a search warrant at the smoke shop around noon Thursday.

During the search, investigators reported finding large quantities of suspected narcotics, including 28,825 grams of marijuana pre-rolls, 43,950 grams of marijuana-infused edibles, 48,485 grams of THC vape pens or cartridges, and 20,755 grams of psilocybin-infused edibles.

Police also recovered more than 6,300 grams of suspected marijuana, approximately 5,080 grams of suspected hydroxymitragynine — an opioid derived from the kratom plant — and 26 glass containers containing about 1,445 grams of suspected THC wax.

Authorities said Lopez was read his Miranda rights but declined to speak with detectives.

Jail records show Lopez faces multiple charges, including selling or possessing hallucinogens with intent to distribute, marijuana trafficking, and possession of controlled substances.

As of Friday morning, Lopez was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold. His bond had not yet been set.
