SOUTH CAROLINA — One person is dead after being struck by a train in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, according to authorities.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 7:50 p.m. Thursday to railroad tracks behind Spartanburg Day School on Skylyn Drive after receiving a report of a pedestrian being hit by a train.
When deputies arrived, they found one person dead at the scene.
Investigators said there were no indications of foul play.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
The incident is currently being investigated by Norfolk Southern Railroad Police.
